kukicha

A warm, rounded and playful green tea from Japan. Kukicha is a blend of tea leaves and tea leaf stems. The lightness of the stems translates into the cup as a sweet, white sesame seed or chestnut note. Tender quality to the texture, like soft white rice. Very balanced and, for a Japanese tea, very low in astringency. Steep at 180°F for 2 minutes

I love this buttery grassy green tea with honey and lemon juice. This tea is perfect when you are not feeling well and need some green tea in your diel to make you feel better.

Loved this. Very vegetal and would probably make a good base in a soup broth. Comforting if you have a sore throat. Zero astringency, got multiple good steeps out of it.

Not a tea for me. Definitely quality tea, but I'm not a big green tea fan especially grassy green teas. Leaving this one for those who love green tea.

Didn't love this. It was subtle, however it had a grassy undertone and aftertaste

This is a clean, vegetal-tasting green tea that steeps to a cloudy yellow and provides multiple steeps. It needs no sweetener and I enjoyed it both hot and iced!

I haven't decided how I feel about this tea within the scope of my personal tastes, but this tea is undeniably good. It's incredibly buttery with a lingering sweetness post-sip. Slightly vegetal and not quite as sencha-y as most had indicated (which is a shame because I *love* sencha), but still very good.

Honestly, I found this tea to be at its best on a second infusion. It was overpoweringly sencha-y on a first infusion. Maybe you'll love that, but I *REALLY* dislike sencha. I find it to taste like raw grass. I know some people really like a grassy tea, but personally I don't. So overall, I'd say my dislike of this tea is just that I don't like it, not that it's bad

It's like a cross between matcha and genmai cha! Kukicha has the grassiness of matcha but the slight nuttiness of genmai cha--the best of both. With my first sip, I always fear that I'll get a bitter aftertaste, but that's never the case. Kukicha is never astringent. It's a light, soft tea and very well balanced. Very definitive "green" tea!

This yellow-green cup is delicious and easy to drink. It's smooth, soft and buttery with a full mouthfeel, little astringency and great flavors. Tastes of green vegetables and seaweed with a clean, lingering finish. Definitely a favorite!

It's good, although very different from other (darker, roasted) kukichas I've had. Light, green, buttery, and clipped/dried grass-like in appearance.

It's very . . . grassy? Like someone mowed tge lawn and put it in my cup? Don't see the appeal at all.

This is an awesome Japanese green tea, nice and savory, brothy, with an almost celery-like aftertaste.

A light green tea with delightful nutty tones to the taste. Not astringent at all. A new favorite blend!

I tried this for adagio’s communiTEA. I think it tastes like grass. I’m not a fan.

This tea has a very leafy/grass quality without being overly bitter. I usually steep it at 170F for 1.5 minutes.

This is one of my very favorite Japanese teas. Not too strong, just right.
