sencha premier
by adagio teas
(17 reviews)Steamed green tea from the Shizuoka prefecture of Japan, harvested in the early spring (the first flush). Sencha is one of Japan's most popular and beloved teas. The higher grades, like our Sencha Premier, tend to have more delicate flavor profiles. A crisp and clean cup with notes of freshly steamed edamame. Refreshing, sweet, and much more delicate than most Senchas. If you're new to Sencha (and the vibrant teas of Japan in general), this would be a great place to start. Steep at 165°F for 2 minutes

Extremely nice tea. Pale green in color. Sweet grassy. Slight seaweed mouthful. I like the Japanese green teas if I had to pick one.

Very good sencha. I grew up in Japan, so I know good green tea.
I pour the boiling water into the teacups to pre-warm, then pour that water into the teapot. I steep 30 seconds only. Lovely color and aroma. Classic taste!

Clean vegetal aroma from the dry leaves. 2 min @ 160. Beautifully clear pale green liquor. There's a hint of seaweed that dissipates quickly. Nice savory flavor, light astringency. Second steep 2 min @ 160 mild astringency. Pleasant and peaceful experience with this delicious green tea.

a nice sencha, took me a minute to get used to it, but then I really enjoyed the vegetal and Unami profiles with a sweet taste added in.

Not a tea for me. I love the beautiful color and the loose tea smells wonderful, but I'm not a big fan of grassy/herbal tasting green teas. I can tell that for green tea fans this would be a huge favorite!

This was so delicious. Delicate, grassy, yet buttery. Had a real melt-in-your-mouth-feel. I accidentally oversteeped this at my job (5 minutes at unknown hot water temp) and it wasn't at all bitter. I can't wait to try a properly brewed cup!

I do like the Sencha teas and this one has a good sweet, spring flavor. It is not as expensive as some so one can add extra for the steep of a strong flavorful cup.

This tea tastes like sencha, which I like, but it's not any better than any other sencha. DO NOT follow the steeping instructions from Adagio. Two minutes is way too long to steep this tea.

Delicious, vegetal and slightly savory green tea! Definitely one I want more of for my collection.

I much prefer the standard sencha from this retailer but this one isn't terrible. I'm not used to much high quality sencha and this one definitely has more numerous and more complex notes. It's distinctly more grassy and very honeyed in comparison to the sencha overture I know and love. It's not my favorite and I won't be reordering but I understand the hype.

This tea has a really interesting taste compared to other teas of its kind but is equally delicious!

I much prefer flavored green teas or green teas so very light and pale like Pi Lo Chan. I didn’t like this one but it’s a personal opinion and probably not the average one.

Edamame is the right description for this tea. I was kind of shocked by the resemblance, but I ain't complaining. this is good tea.

A really good sencha, softer and smoother than others for such a lovely taste. A perfect plain green tea.

For a sencha, its a little underwhelming. Its pretty light and lacking the intense vegetal notes you usually find
