type: green

origin: japan matcha

caffeine: strong

price level: $$$$

Matcha, the focal point of the Japanese Tea Ceremony, is a fine powder made by grinding green tea leaves. Only the finest, young, shade-grown gyokuro tea leaves are used to create matcha. The leaves are plucked and laid out flat to dry. Veins are removed and the leaves, now called tencha, are carefully ground in granite mills until they become the precious powder. Easy preparation is achieved by placing 1 teaspoon of matcha per cup (or to taste) in a cup, adding a few drops of hot water (160-180F) and stirring with a spoon until a paste forms. Add the rest of the water and stir.

This is a Samidori cultivar from Uji, Kyoto, flavored with natural cinnamon and apple. It is a high-grade Spring (first harvest) tea. The 2oz tin will make about 24 8oz servings. Steep at 170°F for 2 minutes

I like matcha but this wasn't really my cup of tea... I didn't think this was a good flavor combination.

I'm finding that I really don't like matcha. Giving it my best shot as I received several kinds from a friend, but not my fav. For me the cinnamon apple flavor didn't pair well with the matcha flavor.

Not my favorite. I'm all for apple cinnamon, but it doesn't work that well on a matcha base. There's a weird, grassy note that doesn't play nice with the flavoring.

I like matcha so i was ok with this tea but i could not taste the cinnamon apple at all. I drank it plain and hot so it may bring out the flavor if you drink it iced

No no no no it just does not taste right. The added flavor is overwhelming over the matcha
