(15 reviews)Our 2019 Spring Darjeeling is an early harvest black tea from the Darjeeling region of India. Different from later harvests, this first flush has a light body and layers of character that lean toward floral with a hint of fruity notes, and a crisp clean finish. Grown on the Balasun Estate, it has all of the classic notes of a first flush that are highly prized by connoisseurs across the globe.Famous for producing some of the best quality teas, the Balasun Tea Estate (est. 1871) is spread across rolling hills with moderately gentle slope. The garden altitude varies from 365 meters to 1375 meters above sea level and temperature ranges between 44 degrees in winter to a maximum of 85 degrees in summer. Steep at 212°F for 2-3 minutes

90 sec @ 212 This tea was light in flavor and aroma. Not unpleasant, just unremarkable to my tastes. No bitterness, mild astringency. Might be better as an iced tea for me, but I prefer much less caffeine.

A surprisingly very light black tea that's light enough you might even question it being a black tea. Slight hazelnut and some type of very subtle sweet fruit notes. Slight mineral aftertaste. Really enjoyed this.

I love sipping this one hot and plain. A bit herbal, a bit mineral, just a note of hay or grassiness. It's smooth and just lovely. Doesn't need a thing added. makes a great cuppa tea.

I really enjoyed the lovely floral aroma of this tea. It tastes of a tart green grape with a very smooth mouthfeel. The astringency at the finish was a bit too much for me though.

This is a lighter Darjeeling tea with some fruity undertones and a flavor and liquor closer to green tea than black. I steeped for 2 minutes at 200 degrees and enjoyed it with just a smidgen of raw honey. My second steep was a bit weak, which was a disappointment.

It's light and a bit bitter, in a pleasant way. It reminded me a bit of jasmine.

Oh yeah, this stuff is amazing. Really smooth and sweet with almost a raisin-y aftertaste.

I agree that this tea is a much more milder darjeeling tea. Just okay in my opinion, but decent to try.

Very mild! Not bad, but not bold either. It really doesn't have that much complexity to it but I admit, I like it!
