longjing dragonwell loose leaf
by mighty leaf
(1 review)This is a light emerald cup with a sweet green flavor and rich, buttery finish. The aroma from the leaves is a subtle but complex array of natural scents: fresh corn, green olive, and pistachio nuts. The cup is luxuriant and buttery, with a solid body and lingering finish. buttery finish. HISTORY This most renowed of all Chinese green teas comes from the mountains near Hangzhou, in Zheijang province. Legend has it that a benevolent dragon resides in a local well where this style of tea was developed several centuries ago. Today, the leaves are pressed in a hot, steep-sided pan, in constant motion. This pan-firing method requires great care to match the temperatures with the size and tenderness of the leaves.
