dragonfruit black tea
by stash tea
(1 review)For this tea, our master blender combines Assam and Nilgiri black teas from India and Ceylon from Sri Lanka with exotic dragonfruit flavor. The result is a rich, pleasantly sweet tea with a taste reminiscent of lychee fruit or melon. On the border of China, Burma and Bangladesh, 120 miles to the east of Darjeeling, lies the Assam valley in India. The climate, soil, and indigenous tea plants' genetic make-up give Assam teas their characteristic full-bodied strong taste and dark liquor. The best Assam teas are known for their unique maltiness. Nilgiri is a Tamil word that means "Blue Mountains". The Blue Mountains are a lush range at the southernmost tip of India, rising over the Indian Ocean with a view toward Africa. Nilgiri teas are full-bodied with light color and aroma. Ceylon, or its contemporary name Sri Lanka, is a beautiful tropical island that lies just off the southern tip of India. Ceylon teas enjoy the seasonal monsoons which encourage their growth. Select tender leaves result in a smooth and light flavor.
