This blended green tea is made up of five classic Chinese green teas: Zhen Qu Green, Young Hyson, Lung Ching, Gunpowder and Lu'an Gua Pian. Each was selected for its own unique flavor characteristics. Zhen Qu green tea is processed by rolling the leaves slightly, which gives them their spiral shape. This tea is light-bodied and smooth. Although delicate, its distinctive taste lingers and refreshes. Young Hyson, carefully plucked early in the season, is known in China as "flourishing spring". The long leaves of this tea create a light, fresh and sweet flavor. Since mentioned by the Chinese poet Lu Yu, Lung Ching (also known as Dragonwell or Longjing) has become China's most famous green tea, celebrated in both prose and poetry. Lung Ching is pan-fired in wood charcoal-stoked woks. Its delicate, sweet flavor is the delight of many tea drinkers. Gunpowder is one of the best-known and most liked of all the standard green teas. The little pellets unfold gracefully and produce a flavorful brew with a unique fragrance and a delightful, lingering aftertaste. The unique and renowned Lu'an Gua Pian brews up a medium-bodied cup with vegetal notes and a rich finish. The fragrance is light and spicy, while the liquor is almost nectar sweet. When blended, the flavor notes of these teas intermingle and create a fuller, rounder liquor. Each leaf style is distinctive, yet they work together in harmony. Take your time when you drink this smooth, vegetal tea to savor its many charms.
