elaine's blend
Little did Elaine Cogan realize she was launching the tea revolution when her complaints about the poor quality of restaurant tea were printed in the New York Times in 1983. In response the Times printed an editorial entitled Tea Snobs and Coffee Bigots. John Harney and Elaine became friends, as they spread the word about good tea. They are suprised and gratified at the success of the tea revolution. Elaine created her own Special Blend, a smooth tea that is refreshing all times of day or night. It is a unique combination of fine Darjeeling, Keemun, Ceylon and Assam. Dry Leaves: The Ceylon and Darjeeling provide some hints of green and gold in this blend of black teas. Liquor: A medium brown liquor. Aroma: The muted notes of cocoa, honey, citrus and malt combine for a mellow tea. Caffeine Level: Caffeinated Body: A smooth bodied tea. Flavors: The fours teas: Darjeeling, Assam, Keemun and Ceylon, combine to a smooth tea that is refreshing at any time. Try it with a splash of milk. Brewing Time: 4 to 5 minutes Brewing Temperature: 212° F
